Adivasi women are central to the resilience of adivasi communities. Using decolonizing and participatory dialogue approaches, we collectively analyze gender in the adivasi context. Our work facilitates empowering spaces for women to critically question the current models of women’s empowerment and adivasi development, which are perpetuating violence. Adivasi women counter this growing violence, by asserting their leadership in governance over land, resources and food.
We facilitate district and state level adivasi womens forums for collective action. A state level forum of adivasi, dalit, shepherd and peasant women facilitates sharing and exchange of experiences, ideas and builds solidarity.
